Bob Nolan was a Canadian-American singer, songwriter, and actor, best known for his work with the group Sons of the Pioneers. Born on April 13, 1908, in New Brunswick, Canada, Nolan moved to California with his family as a child. He began working as a singer and songwriter in the 1930s, eventually joining the Sons of the Pioneers in 1933. With the group, Nolan became known for his distinctive voice and his contributions to country and western music. Nolan continued to perform with Sons of the Pioneers until his retirement in 1951. He passed away on June 16, 1980. Nolan was inducted into the Western Music Association Hall of Fame in 1980, and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1984.
